Should doctors be allowed to opt out of doing abortions?

A draft resolution in front of the EU says, according to a report in the Telegraph, that doctors may have to do abortions if patients have no weher else to go for treatment. The resolution has been brought because doctors are increasingly refusng to carry out abortions. The newspaper article says:
"It also calls for a register of doctors who object to abortion on conscientious grounds and a complaints mechanism for women who feel aggrieved by a refusal of a doctor to either grant an abortion or to perform the procedure directly."

No one enjoys doing abortions but a consultant once said to me. " I do it for the women, because I can remember the septic abortions they suffered before abortion was legal."
So shoud doctors be allowed to opt out or forced to accept doing them as they would other procedures?
